Firstly we continued to the work from last lesson on deciding in our opinions for the future of Stanton site. I decided the area would be best as a shopping center because that way no beautiful countryside will have to be disturbed to make way for an WAG (Wife-And-Girlfriend) heaven!!!! This would probably mean the town will get a railway station to reduce c02 with WAGs driving their Range Rovers. WAG by the way is a way of putting it into context. The housing option got ruled out by me and my partner because neither of us could see ourselves living that close to the M1, Industrial estates, A52 and the eyesore that is/was/used to be Stanton Ironworks. We fed back to the group (most of which watching candle theater) our ideas (of which I was rather questioning) and had a vote. Open space won – somehow!!!
We found out that the site is actually going to be used for cheap housing, a school, local shops, industrial estate and house a medium company. Wrong Decision, well actually it doesn’t bother me because by the time it’s one I’ll be at Uni.
We moved on to marking new roads on a local map, but in my opinion the money and effort should be put into getting a rail link in town!! Reduce car journeys Reduce global warming = Good Thing.
