I am spending this week at the park hospital in Nottinghamshire. It is a nice commute through Linby where most houses are more than £1 million. It is a private hospital so people pay to be taken care of. Yesterday I spent the day with the porters which was OK but good as I soon [...]

Work Experience Evaluation
Overall I really enjoyed my week one placement:
My favourite parts were: Tour of Theatre, Doing Patient OBs, Assisting with taking blood samples, Doing triage and Making bandages . I didn’t like the wards as there were not many jobs to do apart from overseeing the re-dressing the pressure wound which is also the most disgusting [...]

Day 4/5 …
Yesterday in the morning I visited the X-Ray department where I took and developed X-Rays with the team. They have plates which are scanned into a computer and then erased by a machine. Once on screen the X-Ray is edited with information and then printed on a huge printer. This was a great morning, I really enjoyed it.

Day 3 …
I spent the day in the diagnostic and treatment center – Theatre. I began by donning some rather blue scrubs and reporting to my mentor. It was a really good day and I learnt a lot about triage and A&E. Tomorrow I am on the wards. Today I saw violence [...]

The Exam – Review
The exam was pretty easy and I quite enjoyed it. The only question i struggled on was the last question where you had to describe effects of global warming on a chosen location of Antarctica. I was finished early (15 minutes or so) so I watched clouds out the window after checking my answers multiple [...]

Not Much To Report …
Yesterday we looked at why ‘Ilsonsers’ resort to heroin and ‘crack’ it was a very disturbing lesson knowing that this happens a few miles away from us. However I wasn’t offered anything as I walked up to the Albion for PE today LOL.
I seems there was a bet made in RE for £10 worth [...]
